Easter

((Working through the backlog of posts....Easter!))

We spent Easter at my Aunt Elizabeth's house in New Hampshire. The girls dyed Easter eggs, had little baskets full of toys, and went on an egg hunt--thanks again Auntie Ba! Nina (sitting on the right in the video) was obsessed with the green egg dye. No other dye could compare and she shoved all of her eggs into the single bowl, cramming them in, one on top of the other. Claire meticulously arranged the eggs equally between the bowls and sequentially dyed and re-dyed each egg thoughtfully. The cracks in the eggs made by Nina's vigorous egg-smushing led to some beautiful marbled patterning and she ended up with some very creatively textured (green) eggs---A nice complement to Claire's rainbow arrangement.

For the egg hunt, both girls started out strong and took to the egg-finding concept instantly. Nina placed her first egg in her basket and continued her search. Claire found her first egg and proceeded to carefully crack it, peel it, and eat it. She only went back to her search once the egg was completely consumed. After a while, Nina saw what Claire was doing and also started cracking her newly found eggs on the nearby rocks and munching away. You can see Claire start to peel her find in the background of the video, while Nina hunts for eggs.
