Christmas Day

Nana joined us for Christmas morning and all of us had a wonderful time opening gifts with the babies. After a quick breakfast we showed the girls their stockings. Nina caught on first and excitedly grabbed for hers and the toys inside. Claire didn't see hers at first and, thinking that only Nina was going to get gifts, Claire started to prepare for a special Christmas-time protest tantrum. Fortunately Nana presented Claire with her very own stocking and her angry grunts quickly transformed into happy smiles (video below, Nina's in the hat).

The girls got many wonderful gifts. Thank you so much to everyone who sent presents! I've posted a short video (bottom) with the girls towards the end of the gift giving. Claire bonded with her Tickle Me Elmo immediately (a gift from Nana) and showered it with hugs and snuggles as soon as she saw it. Nina insisted on wearing her gifts and is also sporting Claire's backpack.

After opening all the presents and enjoying the remaining wrapping paper pile we all went across the street to play with the fire department's Santa.

Jason, Nana, and I enjoyed a scrumptious feast and toasted the holiday with champagne while the girls napped.
